Important Message from the ARA Executive Committee

To the association,

The leadership of your association is announcing the transition of its CEO Michael Wilson.

I am reaching out today on behalf of the ARA Executive Committee to notify you that effective today, April 23, 2018, ARA CEO Michael Wilson will be transitioning from the Association. Michael has nearly 20 years of experience in the industry, has served as CEO of ARA since 2007, and led the Association to many accomplishments over the years. The Executive Committee, staff, and members worldwide appreciate the commitment and dedication that Michael has exhibited on behalf of ARA and its member businesses and look forward to following his future successes.

During what we anticipate to be a smooth transition, Sandy Blalock will be the interim CEO and involved in all activities of the association going forward. We are very thankful to Sandy for being there for the association as she gleans from her past experience as president of ARA. Sandy is also currently leading various State Associations and has the drive and expertise to guide ARA in the direction we can all be proud of at this time.

While this change of leadership is a demanding one, ARA’s EC takes its role seriously in guiding ARA through this transition and the EC will take strong steps to ensure it is a collaborative effort for the betterment of the membership.

ARA is an association with deep roots in the community and values the respect it receives from so many of its members and stakeholders. We look forward to building on the strong foundation that those before us helped to create, including past presidents, members, stakeholders, etc. Without these valuable pioneers, ARA would not be what it is today and we all recognize and appreciate their efforts and contributions.

Today, a renewed path forward for ARA is underway. We will be inclusive, rely upon the membership and focus on what they require most. ARA will work with all supporters of the association and engage with key stakeholders as we explore new opportunities. The vision for ARA is bright and we all need ARA to be successful for the future of our industry.

ARA appreciates the respect it has around the world. We acknowledge and appreciate our members’ role in the overall success of the industry and association which we all love. Auto recyclers around the world will benefit as ARA addresses local, state, federal and international issues faced by the auto recycling community.

Best regards,

David Gold
ARA President
